Little Tinicum Island Cleanup
This fall 46 volunteers spent valuable time cleaning up this unique ecological habitat on the Delaware river. 1.7 tons (over 3400 pounds) of trash and 33 tires were removed in the cleanup. Volunteers will be returning in 2014 in an effort to Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.Read News Story

The annual Pennsylvania Coast day was held on September 7th 2013. It was another great day for Pennsylvania residents to come out for some fun and learning on the Delaware River.

at oil spill drill in Sussex County
The Coast Guard along with the state Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control and New Jersey-based Clean Ventures Inc. were among the participants of the drill in Sussex County.Read News Story
Crews test new equipment in oil spill exercise
The Delaware Bay and River Cooperative and Clean Ventures Inc. hooked sections of boom together. Spills are cleaned with a “boom,” a floating barrier formed by yellow floats with foot-long plastic “skirts” that catch or deflect the oil.Read News Story

US Coast Guard/DBRC Exercise
The exercise simulated an emergency product lightering operations: the transfer of oil or hazardous material from a stricken vessel to another vessel, barge, or temporary storage device.Read News Story
Athos Oil Spill Six Years Later
During the spill, about 192,000 gallons of crude oil leaked from an underground Sunoco Inc. pipeline and spilled into a closed water impoundment area which affect Little Tinicum island.Read News Story
